What is the

Funky Fish Fry?

The Funky Fish Fry is held every April to celebrate Autism Acceptance month. The event is hosted by the junior boards of Mitchell’s Place and the Autism Support of Alabama in support of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Birmingham and beyond. Our goal in creating this event is to prove that giving back to the community and raising awareness should not break the bank. This family-friendly rain or shine event will be fun for all, so we hope you will consider attending, sponsoring, and/or donating!

BENEFITING:

Mitchell's Place

Mitchell’s Place is a comprehensive autism treatment center and accredited preschool for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Established in 2005 after a local family became frustrated by the lack of autism services in the southeast for their son, Mitchell. Mitchell’s Place works to meet the growing need for specialized services for children with ASD, and their families, in Birmingham and across the state. Mitchell’s Place provides an array of outcomes-based programs including Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Feeding Therapy, Evaluations, Family Therapy, as well as Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) in an outpatient and full day model.
